Red Redding Blood
The last couple of weekends have been really fun for music. I’ve spent the previous, Friday and Saturday, both, in the basement, of my friends’s (plural and possesive? is that aloud, grammatically?) place: somewhere, I’d like to think, is one of Allston’s hubs, for good music, and good people. So, as I approached, last night (I’m a little bit behind here, sorry), pizza dripping down my face, ranch dressing…and all, I had this small, strange sense that this Saturday, would be, a very special Saturday. And, well, it was. I don’t know if I’ve ever really, truly expressed my LOVE For the likes of our country’s heroes to pop punk: the kings and queens of everything teenager: everything “complicated”: everything, at the age of twenty, I envy of the formative nineteen; but, in the basement of the Boxfort, I witnessed, two new bands, of which, I believe will soon assume the new age of regality, and royalty. The golden years, the new ones, at least, well, they belong to Connecticut’s finest, Suns and their besties, also from the cutlet, Tawny Peaks. My friend Forrest told me I have a “boner” for Suns. I don’t have a penis, but besides the group’s devastatingly good looks, and that of TP’s, as well, I can’t help if, all of their emo, sometimes sensitive, sometimes metal, moments, just feel more like the young adult, than the young professional, society wants me to be: and I love it…every moment of it.
PS VVVVV stream and download, below, these, two bands, on their respective spaces…for a reeellll goooddd timmmmeee!
